Qualification and ExperiencePostgraduate degree (M.A. / M.Sc. / M.Tech.) in Psychology, Neuropsychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Behavioral Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, or allied disciplines from a recognized university.Minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in postgraduate degree.Knowledge and Skills:• Prior exposure to EEG / fNIRS / physiological data to assist with EEG data collection and Hyperscanning protocols.• Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, SPSS, R, or similar tools• Strong foundation in research methodology, experimental design, and data collection procedures.• Familiarity with administering psychological questionnaires and behavioral assessments.• Exposure to qualitative research methods such as interviews, transcription, and thematic analysis is desirable.• Comfortable working with adolescents and families.• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.• Ability to manage multiple tasks and learn new methodologies independently.• Good academic writing and documentation skills.• Ability to do independent and collaborative research.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data visualization platforms. Desirable Experience:• Prior experience as a Research Assistant / Project Associate / Intern in a psychology or neuroscience laboratory.• Exposure to EEG device, signal processing, and machine learning techniques.Other Requirements:• Ability to manage fieldwork, participant coordination, and research documentation.• Willingness to travel locally for data collection and provide logistical support for research activities.• Willing to relocate to Chennai, Tamil Nadu for the duration of the project.Job DescriptionThe Project Associate will work on an interdisciplinary research project using a mixed-methods approach that integrates psychological measures with neurobiological techniques, including EEG Hyperscanning methods.The selected candidate will be involved in the end-to-end execution of the project, including but not limited to:• Assisting in project planning, ethics documentation, and research coordination.• Recruitment and screening of participants.• Administration of standardized psychological questionnaires• Assisting in EEG Hyperscanning data collection, including participant preparation, protocol execution, and basic quality checks.• Supporting preprocessing and organization of EEG, questionnaire, and interview data.• Assisting with qualitative interviews, transcription, coding, and thematic analysis.• Supporting statistical analysis and feature extraction for predictive modeling using multimodal datasets.• Contributing to preparation of project reports, research manuscripts, conference submissions, and policy briefs.• Maintaining research records, datasets, and documentation in compliance with ethical guidelines.Expression of Interest:Interested candidates may send their Expression of Interest (EOI) along with the following documents:• Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV)• A statement of motivation (maximum 500 words) clearly outlining the candidate’s interest in the project, relevant skills, and willingness to work in an interdisciplinary research setting.The EOI should be sent via email to: Email: <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="mailto:rekhicentersoh.iitm@gmail.com">rekhicentersoh.iitm@gmail.com</a>Subject line of the email must be: "Expression of Interest - Project Associate"Note: Candidates will be short listed initially based on qualification, and relevant work/research experience (if any) and only the short listed candidates will be called for interview.Pay: Rs. 30,000 - 37,000/- Per monthLast date to apply: January 31 2026

This position is open throughout the year and offers an opportunity to work closely with ongoing research initiatives at the center.EligibilityApplicants should have an academic background or prior experience aligned with the Centre’s research themes.
