The Mind Lab at the Rekhi Centre for Happiness and Wellbeing is the core research facility where science meets practical exploration of the mind. Designed to support multidisciplinary studies in psychology, neuroscience and wellbeing, the lab is equipped with tools that allow us to measure brain activity, behaviour, attention and emotional states in real time. Through technologies such as EEG and other upcoming neurophysiological and behavioural instruments, the Mind Lab enables researchers to study how stress, happiness, sleep, attention and emotional resilience manifest both mentally and biologically. The space serves as a hands-on learning environment where students and researchers can experiment, observe, and translate scientific insights into meaningful wellbeing applications.

Emotiv EPOC X EEG System
The laboratory is equipped with the Emotiv EPOC X, a 14-channel wireless EEG system designed for reliable and user-friendly brain activity recording. Featuring saline-based electrodes for rapid setup and flexible sampling rates of 128 Hz and 256 Hz, the system supports a wide range of experimental paradigms. Its ergonomic design and extended battery life make it well suited for studies of attention, emotion, cognitive workload, stress, human-computer interaction, and mental wellbeing.

Mentalab Explore Pro 8-Channel EEG System
The laboratory houses two Mentalab Explore Pro 8-channel wireless EEG systems equipped with HRG Ring wet electrodes and ear-clip reference electrodes. In addition to high-quality EEG recording, the systems feature Mentalab Hypersync technology, enabling hyperscanning with sub-millisecond synchronization between participants. This capability supports advanced research in social neuroscience, inter-brain connectivity, human interaction, neurofeedback, and multimodal physiological recordings, including EEG, EMG, eye-tracking, and motion-sensing data.
